Time to let her eat. Christine gets her first trip out of the cage for the season tonight. Still going to be 1000ft + DA, but I'm getting antsy. Great Lakes Dragaway, Union Grove WI tonight for "Slicks Night". Hope to see some of the area folks there. I'll be there between 7 and 7:30 depending on the traffic. I'm the old, bald guy with the beat up Mustang.

You have the inside poop, huh?! Hey, wait, my times were turned off! You sneak!!

Waited an hour and a half for cleanup before my first pass. Then, some yahoo decides to tune his car in the other lane while I'm sitting, staged, for about 3 minutes :thefinger:

Track was a little slick from a GM car puking its rear end.

They actually did a great job of cleanup. I caught a little on my first pass and managed to miss 3rd and ran a blistering 12.10@92.50.

Pass 2, a little more like it. Still had to walk it out because it just wouldn't stick and settled for a 1.69 (wasn't very happy about that, but what are you gonna do?). Pass 2 nets 11.04@128.55.

Had time for one more, so I figured let's try to really launch it. Followed about 10 guys with big slicks and hoped that they'd laid some rubber down. Nice in theory. I asked the guy in staging if Mike was in the tower....he said yeah....so I said, have him go ahead and turn my time on (just because my wife had never really seen Christine "eat". Once again, I had to walk it out, but it was better at a 1.65 60'. My wife gave me a rack of crap for just sitting at the lights and not getting the jump on the guy next to me. I told her I wasn't racing him. She proceded to tell me how far ahead of me he was and that I was snoozing (nice and supportive, she is). She was right IF I were racing the guy because you could have timed my r/t with a sun dial.

I beat him to the line anyway, but I'll have to be more "on my game" for her in the future. :silly:

End result of run #3: 10.91@131.67

Still the same Eaton that came on the car (although tweaked a bit by Posi)
No NOS. A used/borrowed/acme version of a Whipple monoblade.

So, yeah. Happy with it for a 1000 ft DA night.

If I'd only had better hook and got that 1.65 down to a 1.55, I'd been in the mid-10.8xxxx's. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

OK...so Greg. I was bummed man, where were you??!!

Dude, I wish I could have been there. I live north of the city, and often am working down that way during the day, then have to drive home to get the car, and then drive back down thru three construction areas in rush hour. I haven't gone to the track on a weeknight all year.
Aside from that, you're starting to put up numbers on par with Steve's old ported and pullied TVS. Mikey said you didn't even do a burnout??? :pinklove:

I might go Saturday for Jeanette's event, but it's supposed to be in the 80's again. I'm not going to be much competition for you anyway...

Also FYI- Mike always runs the tower for Slicks night. Either him or his gal Mindi that is...

Anyway my friend, you're putting up sick numbers. No two ways about it. :pimp:

Thanks man. Yeah I did a quick burnout just to clean them off as that third pass was almost a "hotlap". It was like 9:45 so I had to hop back in line but by that time it was just roll up and go.

Larry from Speed Inc said he got it on video, and if I heard him correctly he said one of my tires hooked just outside the water and was spinning on the rim.

God, I freaking LOVE these M&H's. Ask Steve how sticky they are compared to anything else. He bought a set.

I don't wanna wait til the makeup day for Ford Day to catch up. Let's make a point to get together on a cool one before then.

Later-

What size tire/rim?

What size tire/rim?

325/50/15 11 x 15 x 28 on 15 x 10 Bogarts.

It's their drag radial not the cheater slick (although I'd like to try those!)

They're like freaking glue. NOT a tire to drive around on much and you REALLY don't want to get in the rain with it.

Proof that when Rumplestilskin wakes up, his car is pretty quick. No, I wasn't racing this guy. Thank GOD!

Obviously you forgot to let Mrs VNMOUS1 know just how slow the cars in the "Clunker Class" are and that the old farts driving tend to nap before each run.

We're still running in the high 70s here.
