Went to Beaver Springs Dragway in PA today. Keep in mind this was my first time ever racing on a drag strip. This is not the best track either, but was O.k. to have some fun...plus it was like 85-90 degrees. Two major issues at hand...heat soak and tires. The F1 Eagles weren't hookin to well, but I knew this going in.

1st Run
60' - 2.716
1/4 - 14.351
MPH: 111.77
(Tried to launch WAY to hard on this one because I didn't know what to expect, lesson learned)

2nd Run
60' - 2.446
1/4 - 13.115
MPH: 114.63
(Got a little bit better on the launch)

3rd Run
60' - 2.117
1/4 - 12.817
MPH: 112.79
(Got the launch down pretty good here, but have to take off easy so I don't spin...damn I need some drag tires)

4th Run
60' - 2.325
1/4 - 13.062
MPH: 113.13
(Tried the other lane and it wasn't quite as sticky as the other side)

Given the fact that I've never raced at a strip and had the stock crappy tires I think 12.8 is decent for the mods I have. See signature block for mods.

Thanks for posting, I am thinking about going to an 1/8th track by my house.

I'm guessing your F1 are the 18 inch stock wheels right? Did you let air out of the tires? Traction control on/off?

Thanks.

Yes 18 inch stock. I let some air out...I went down to about 25lbs. Wasn't sure if I should go lower but others there said not to. Traction control was off every time.

Not bad for your first time at the track. Nice improvements up to the last run in the other lane. Some soft rubber, more sidewall and practice will help with those 60' times. Unfortunately with those crappy tires letting more air out really won't help. It's tough to run good in the heat of the summer with the heat soak. I added the shelby/revan HE with fans and the larger resevoir and it's helped a bunch down here in Houston.

Great improvements over such a few runs. Congrats!
