Anyone using or have used this W.O.T. Box ? I'm a little skeptical and would worry about something cutting off my ignition.

There was a member a year or two ago that used it and posted some videos of him using it at the track. He claimed it worked very well. It did sound funny to hear but good launches.

He claimed it was safe and no different than bumping up against the rev limiter.

True, but that's not good for it either.

Just remember you're going to have to do adjustments for every day, every condition, every pressure.

Here's a thought that's cheaper and easier on your car (unless you just really like the idea of side stepping it at 5,000. And I can't say I haven't, but you'll break shit a lot quicker). Pick up a Raptor shift light. There's a nifty little feature where you can set a launch rpm and it flickers. I guess a little easier than looking at the tach (although I still do even though I have the Raptor).

It certainly won't let you put your foot to the floor, but you'll have a better chance of being able to drive your car back home rather than having it towed.

Yes the box does the launch thing but what I was looking at was the powershift feature. It allows you to powershift without worrying about the revs shooting up. Supposed to make powershifting easy and safe.:silly:

That's what your rev limiter's for.

wow:( another rediculous over priced product that is not needed, just need to practic power shifting holding the rpm steady at lower rpm, then work your way up the rpm range.
never needed a shift light either, just learned my car.
been doing this for a long time, with many mustangs, one gn and a comaro ss -manual.

You're all missing the point. The WOT Box allows you to keep your foot all the way to the floor, and when you depress your clutch it interrupts the spark and the fuel for milliseconds to reduce the forces on the transmission so you can bang a better shift.

don't need a millisecond!! from a box,,can do it myself.
slamming the pedal to the floor while releasing the clutch at the precise moment is no problem,,then while running the 1/4 mile, I keep my pedal to the floor while banging the gears.

Not missing the point at all. If the track is REALLY sticky, I'll do it on the 1-2. If not, I let off on the 1-2 and powershift the rest.

I get the concept that if your feet and right hand aren't in harmony that you have an increased possibility to "grind em" because the over-rev between shifts. But, one of the ideas of the over-rev is to hit the next one in the sweet spot, not letting the revs fall. So, not only are you quickly shifting, but you're not starting "down on revs". Your rev limiter will keep you from grenading your motor.

We all miss one once in a while, but after watching WOT boxes like this in use at the track, and watching the videos, I'll take my chances. If it momentarily kills the power, you simply won't have the benefit of increased revs when you hit the next one.

I know a guy who still blew his motor using this so its not really that much of a safeguard. Also if you ever want to run NMRA or NMCA or even NHRA novice events or also move up you cant have these so you have lost the learning curve over another racer. Don't depend on a crutch to do what you should learn to do.

Came in 3rd yet again at zMax in Charlotte for the True Street event for my bracket.

WOT BOX is the best hands down...anyone with the 1-2 high rpm shift problem on a 2010+ GT500 this will solve it.....anyone knocking this box obviously hasnt tried it....works flawlessly and worth every penny of the $200 its sold for, I beleive it only cuts spark and not fuel for the ms that you have the box set for....but it will hold full boost between shifts unlike on/off throttle shifting, very easy to set, theirs a chart that is on their website, start the car, push the little button on the wotbox itself, let it flash the number of times you want it to according to the chart, then let go of the button, it will play back the flashes to confirm your settings and your done, to set the 2 step you follow the same procedure but with your foot on the clutch to the floor while you hold the button on the wotbox down the number of flashes you want to set the 2 step for according to the chart...easiest setting is 1 for the wot shift it will automatically sense your shifting and cut ignition only for how long you shift up to a max of 350 ms, so if you shift in 150ms it will respond accordingly and likewise if it takes you 300ms....anyway I have it, I just put it in last week and i picked up 6.5mph on my best run and 4mph on my first run ever using it over my previous best mph.....
