I suspect that the dealer will try to weasel out of the original agreement that I have in place "price not to exceed MSRP", but I'm ready to rumble.:D

i placed my order for a white coupe with blue stripes on monday as well. just like everyone else, no pricing yet. my dealer said all shelbys will sell above retail, and i suspect many other dealers will do the same. my original salesman has quit his job (or gotten fired), and the dealer will not honor his agreement, saying he should not have made such a deal without the owner's aprroval.

Ordered mine last week red coupe with the white stripes. It was said almost from the begining 10k over msrp. I don't like it but its part of the deal

I was at the dealer yesterday, and I placed my order for a vista blue with no racing stripes, upgraded interior, mach 1000 stereo and satellite radio. I am paying a $5,000 price over sticker and while I wish that I was paying sticker I know that this is a realistic price considering the demand. After watching the ebay listings i think that I am making out ok with this deal.

According to SVT it's almost black in regular light and looks like metallic gray in the sun

Only bad part is the dealer is 150 miles away. It's going to be a long haul when I go to pick it up, but it'll be a fun drive home...unless it's snowing when I take delivery. Then I'll have to trailer it home.

I am glad to have my order in, even though I still understand that it might be for naught! It was a step that I had waited for about a year! This last two and a half weeks has been loooong!

I don't have a DORA. Does that stand for Delivery Order Request Acknowledgement? I need to ask my dealership folks about that. That would be another confidence building step!

We also placed our order today; ebony with black and crimson interior, and tungsten stripes, shaker 1000. I'm hoping the the sound of the exhaust will be more desirable than any sound system. But, you might as well get it all. Best of luck to everyone. Just getting the VIN will make us happy.

My order went in on May 2nd...Performance White with ALL the stripes in Vista Blue...Optionless as far as upgrades go. As soon as it gets here, I'm pullin' the motor to put in my 4WD Maverick mud bogger...JUST KIDDING!!:D I'm patiently waiting...hopefully my ulcer hasn't flaired up too bad by the time it gets here.

Yesterday was the big day for me! Grabber orange with tungsten stripes plus sat radio and the int upgrade pkg as options. The dealer required a few grand over MSRP b/c they have to spend xtra dollars training their mechanics before Ford will allow them to order one from the factory.

Yes...via phone or email. If you go to the Ford website and hit the 'locate a dealer near you' icon you can locate any dealer near or far...all you need is a zip code. You can then email or choose to speak w/a human being regarding Shelby allocations and order status. I would imagine it will be a time consuming process @ this point...I would also check out some of the other GT500 websites for info. regarding the possible locations of yet to be ordered cars (stangsunleashed.com has been pretty informative lately)...GOOD LUCK!

Went to see my dealer, AGAIN, today. He's saying my car will be built 4th quartrer, per regional guy, showed him a letter to that fact. But, I didn't see the letter, and think alot is going on that we don't know. ie, Ford "Presidents Club" dealers are being taken care of 1st, then past "SVT Dealers", then 2 "other categories"(can't remember those 2) of dealers, then small town dealers like mine.
Had this same problem last year with my sons GT. Ordered a 2005 in March, in July was advised that no more would be built, and we had to wait for 2006 models. FoMoCo seems to have forgotten the loyal customers altogether. So what else is new, right........

Also, Service Mgr says the training of mech's before cars are released is a bunch of bunk. Just a false rumor.

Ford's general plan was to fulfill as follows
1. Power Lease Holders
2. President's Award Winners
3. Full Line SVT Dealers
4. SVT-Focus Only Dealers
5. All other "Certified" dealers

As we all know, best laid plans of mice and men...
This schedule obviously has not been followed literally because I know non-SVT, non-PA dealers who have received their 1st car and have the 2nd on the way while, at the same time, some SVT dealers haven't received their first.

And about the training of mechanics...
Formal training may not have been required, but according to my dealer, there were two online tests that had to be taken before certification was granted: one for the sales guy, and another that was more technical that someone had take...probably the mechanic.

I'm in Pa too. SVT dealer is about 20-30 minutes for me, he has't gotten any yet either. Mine is coming through the local dealer in my town. Probably last on the list. He did tell me this week that the regional guy was in and showed a letter that guaranteed it would be in sometime in 4th quarter. Great, just in time for the snow...................ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG....... ....

258FINALLY. Got my VIV on Friday. Will have by end of OCT. Great, almost in time for the snow. At least having it submitted to the factory, and having a VIN ease's the pain a little.

Hot DAMN!!!! Just heard from crcfmc@ford.com. My build date is 10/16, and a delivery date of 10/24.........."However, this information is subject to change".....
At least we're progressing AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, How sweet it will be!!!!!!!!!!!
