nitto o5r drag radial. the best time i have been able to put down so far is a 12.33 @ 120 mph. here are the reasons i think i can't get in the 11s yet. inexperience and the weather. temp 92 deg. humidity in the 90s. i can only imagine what DA was. my car was dynoed at 537 rwhp and 549 tq at S and R performance in tampa.

You've got enough power to be in the 11's and if you're running 120 in that heat the DA isn't THAT bad (remember you're starting at sea level!)

What was your 60' time?

That's the issue.

Knock a tenth off that and see how you like it. Then practice and knock off another.

I don't run M/Ts. Those are M&H.

The best I ever ran on a set of 305/35/18s on stock wheels was around a 1.63-1.65. They're not very forgiving because they have no sidewall. Nice tire to goof around in front of the Dog n Suds though. Actually a pretty good tire if you're going to stay with stock wheels and stock size tires. About as good as you'll find.

Taller tires will slow you down if you don't add power or torque or change gears.

1.65s are certainly possible with the Mickey's.

thanks BJ now i have a goal to shoot for. i am sure that it will be a lot of fun looking for those three tenths i need to get to a 1.65. the drag racing school is a little more money than i want to spend. i would rather put it towards the new TVS from VMP and just keep on practicing.
