After 5 months I'm close to getting my car back from the body shop. The body guy did a great job and the car looks fantastic minus a couple of stripe issues which are being resolved. I noticed overspray on the panhard bar and the swaybar which led me to look closely underneath the car. I found overspray on the gas tank covers, straps, exhaust hardware and pipes, gas ventline and supply, pumpkin, axle housing and misc. other areas.....a real lazy move by the painter. The body shop agrees to take care of.....most of it. However, they are saying that there are some areas that must have come "oversprayed" from the factory, in particular the area ahead of the fuel tank. It looks like a small cross member of some sort. It seems unlikely to me but does anyone have any knowledge regarding this? I'm on the cusp of losing my cool with these guys but I would like to have some solid back up. I've included some pictures but it hard to see the area I am describing. And just for the record I'm trying to count to ten like I do before getting angry with my kids but I keep getting stuck on three. Thanks in advance.

Ive worked at a body shop since i was 10 years old. Too me the guy that you are dealing with pretty much told you to go and take a hike. Yes, there is some factory overspray on the underside of all cars, but definately not all over the rear end and suspension. If that were my car i would just take some paint thinner and wipe it off myself, there is no sense in bringing the car back and having more overspray get on the rest of the finish by someone priming or painting another car near it. If it was freshly painted it should come off fairly easy. Personaly i would not go back, but thats just my 2cents. Its your call though, whatever you decide to do good luck.:fight:
