: TSB Time?

OK guys. My '07 is getting hard to shift into reverse/1st, and 1st/2nd, w/5500 miles on it. I'm the 2nd owner, I wouldn't pay the "bump" on the price for the car. The original owner did. He purchased it, the end of '06. It had 2k miles on it when I bought it. The 3yr warranty is up. If I need this TSB that everyone talks about, do I have to pay out of pocket? If Ford recognized the problem, aren't they obligated to fix it? From the different experiences given on this forum, from almost having an accident, to having the clutch/trans turn to junk, I'm afraid to drive the damn thing. Any help would be appreciated. I followed a thread from "Doneal", who had to get ahold of Ford corporate to get his car fixed. Is that my only option, being out of warranty? Thanks for any help. Brad

Looks to me like you've already done your homework. It sounds to me like your car is showing signs of clutch drag which should be covered.

First thing would be to download the TSB info from the web and head over to your nearest dealer with said information in hand.

If that dealer won't accept the TSB, move on to another. Failing that, then a letter to corporate may be your only solution.

Regardless, good luck!

If you end up paying for it yourself I would install the 2010 complete kit.

Thanks for the replies. I went to a thread that had the TSB on it, but I can't get it to download. Is there a website to go to that I can download from? I guess a Ford site. Thanks. Brad

Try Google. You should be able to get the Clutch Drag TSB info from there. Or you can search threads started by 'Grabber', I'm pretty sure he's posted the latest TSB on the topic not too long ago.

Here's a Grabber post of 2/20/10
http://www.fordgt500.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5449

Or you can Google "TSB" with the number:

here's the TSB's for the clutch issues

08-16-4
09-19-11
10-3-8

Good Luck!
