Ford will announce details of the 2011 Shelby GT500 on Monday ahead of the car's official debut at the Chicago Auto Show on Wednesday, but why wait until then? Ford's webcast site has already given us a look at the car on a short video clip (which has now been removed). Screen captures of the video are, however, still available, showing the 2011 model with the SVT Performance Package.

Last week the 2011 Shelby GT500 order guide popped up online, confirming such new items as a completely aluminum block for the 5.4-liter V8. This should significantly reduce the vehicle's weight, particularly over the front axle. Other highlights include the glass roof found on other Mustang models, as we as an SVT Performance Package, with such items as 19×9.5-inch front and 20×10-inch rear forged aluminum wheels, as well as 3:73 rear end (instead of the car's standard 3:55). We've also learned that the GT500 will make an additional 10-hp for 2011, or a total of 550-hp.

Be sure to check back Monday for complete details of the 2011 Shelby GT500 and in the mean time, browse through our gallery of screen captures below or spec out your new 2011 GT500 using the leaked order guide.

What's with the tiny stripes? I was hoping for a new and refreshing rear end too.

The strips suck, and I'm not crazy about the wheels either!

Ugh I'm glad I purhased my 08 model that's for sure. Honestly, still haven't seen one at any local car show or just driving around on LI. But, there's plenty of the new models at your local Ford dealers, it's a dud like the upcoming Ipad, which is basically an oversize, overweight Ipod Touch for $499. Honestly... lol

spied car so the stripes are probably fake, hopefully wider tires on the wider rear rims. I am also noticing a carbon fiber roof.

Are you sure that the roof isn't the glass roof option?

Seen the order guide the other week and the narrow stripes are part of the svt performance package otherwise the stripes remain the same. Glad the glass roof finally made it to the GT500 but the svt performance package sucks and the wheels are freaking ugly lol

I really like many of the creature comforts that have been added over the years but I'm still in love with the looks of my 07.

I would prefer the wide stripes with the SVT package.Whats the diff between the 2011 motor and the Ford GT. Seems the same to me. Will this run with the new Z28 with the 3:73 rear end only? Anyone running Mich Pilot sports instead of the Goodyears on an 2010?

I'm really disappointed in the seat stripe choices. SVF Black and SVF Kona are the only two cars available with silver accents seat striping. All other inserts are black according to proprietary color and trim availability offerings.

Stripes. Get a delete and paint your own on.

Motor. The difference is a dry sump, different crank and rods and about $10,000.

Z 28. All speculation. None to race.

The Goodyears on the svt option are NOT the same as on a standard GT500. They'll still suck, but they'll suck less.
