I haven't received my car yet but was thinking I better get a radar detector. I borrowed my father in laws recently and it was not worth the money he spent. Was wondering if y'all had any suggestions.

I have owned a Valentine One radar detector for sometime now and I have no complains it is a little pricey but it has a great warranty and hey I got it as a gift from a couple friends so I didnt spend the money myself but I believe that most of the time you get what you pay for.

I got the Bel RX75 Pro, which is basically the same as the RX65, but it gets hardwired to the car. No fuss, no muss, no dangling wires. Laser jammers and one radar receiver mounted behind the grille, one radar receiver mounted at the back plate. Bi-color LED mounted in the IP. Pricey, but a clean install.

Rocky Mountain Radar has a nice selection of radar/laser detectors and also radar/laser detector/jammers.... this is the way to go if you drive like I do.

I have been using the C-302 and the C-430 for a couple of years and they have saved me many many times over.. You can pick one of these up on e-bay pretty cheap (C-450 is their new model)

I will soon be upgrading to their latest detector/jammer system called the RMR-8RDS you can check it out at Rocky Mountain Radar . com (I cannot post URL's just yet sorry.

360 degree protection but it is not out yet on e-bay so I'm going to wait a while so I don't have to pay full price for it.

The jammer is part of the RX75 Pro Package. I just had it installed on Monday, so I can't speak to how well it works.

I do like how the entire package is mounted, though.

I may be reading this wrong but I believe that the plus package in both the Beltronics and the Escort versions are capable of jamming. The pro versions according to Radar Busters are not. Please correct me if I am wrong cause I would like to purchase the correct version for jamming and detection?

You are correct. The Plus package comes in a separate box. I did get the Plus package.

Just an update for you, 07. The other day, I was going through a work zone with one of those portable speed detector/display units. The car ahead of me registered a speed, but mine didn't. Don't know whether it was the jammer, but I found it interesting.

I purchsaed a Beltronics STI. It is capable of not being picked up by radar detector detectors (important in Virginia). The unit does seem a little heavy. I'm wondering if anyone has one of these that has experienced any problem with attachment because of weight. I know this is a new model and perhaps not many have one yet.

from everything that I have researched the BEL STi Driver is one of the best out there. I read a review by a guy that works on them and does nothing but research them and his opinion was that it was one of the best, especially for defeating the SPectre II/III radar detector detectors.

The RX75 is also said to be "undetectable". You'll be able to see it next Saturday. ;)

Keep me informed on your RX75. I am quite interested in purchasing this or the Escort version of Plus units. Would like your personal opinion of the RX75 as time goes on before I make a major investment in the Plus packages. What do you mean by next Saturday's comment?

I haven't really been in a position to use it very much yet. This week, I will be driving about 1200 miles round trip, much of it on interstates. So, by Monday I will have a little more to tell you about it.

I do like how I've got it installed, though. Very subtle, yet easy to access.

The Saturday comment, as Bill mentioned above, is about a little get together we are trying to pull off this weekend. I hope to have some photos, as well as some video, to post next week.

Well I just purchased the RX 65. Can't wait to use it. With all our cars I figured I can take it with me no matter what I drive.

Well, that radar detector was short lived. We went to Atlanta last week for a trade show and someone broke in to our truck stole the RX65 (we were trying it out before the Shelby comes in) and our Nikon 70 D with all the trimmings. What a bummer! We didn't get the glass fixed until the next day and then they stole my $12 ice chest the next night. The Shelby is supposed to be in next week so I will have to get anyone one. Isn't life exciting?

Very sorry to hear about your break-in! Will insurance help you aout on anything?

Who would have thought that anyone in LA (Lovely Atlanta) would have stolen a $12 ice chest?

Well, the new RX65 came in and I ordered a Canon last night. My car is supposed to get to the dealership today. I plan on flying up to Nebraska to get it this weekend. Can't wait and hope the camera comes in before that.
