Hi All,
I am in Fort McMurray but come down to Edmonton a couple of times a summer with my GT500; just wondering if anyone knows of any scheduled shows or meets or a GT500/Mustang club in Edmonton? I think there are only 3 other GT500's up here so not a lot on the go here other than Wednesday cruise night at the W.....
This Canadian section is pretty quiet....but I just saw it today for the first time; I only seem to ever go look at the performance mod section :)
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Vette Killer,
I'm in Calgary and we have the same situation whereby there are not too many GT500s around (that I know of), so my best chance is to see them on Wednesday nights at the Home Depot (across from the A&W). You might want to look at the Wolf Pack. I think they are a pretty large Mustang group out of Edmonton.
Take care,

Thanks for the info,
That looks like a great club site; you ever head up to Edmonton? I am thinking I am going to try and take in the Camrose show this year May 29-31 and the memorial show at River Cree on June 27th.

I try not to put too many clicks on mine; it's about 1000 km rounder every time I go to Edmonton. I was hoping to enter the street car shootout at Castrol Raceway the same weekend as Camrose but they made it mandatory for a roll bar now for anything running under 11.5....I suppose I could sandbag but what fun would that be...

Hey VK!
I don't visit this site all that often anymore, so my apologies for not responding sooner.
I have not made the trip to Edmonton in my Shelby yet. Like you, I'm trying to keep the KMs down as much as possible as I plan on keeping this car for quite some time.
The rules really bite as far as the rollbar goes which is keeping me from visiting the strip. I'm OK with that as I know what she is capable of. Besides, enough people with similar mods have posted their numbers, so I can be pretty confident that I'd be running similar times.
I spend most of my time now on 'mustangcanada.com'. There's a few GT500s on there now (probably a dozen or so). You might want to check it out and see if it works for you.
FYI - You'll be able to see some member's rides at the Shaun Stewart memorial that is put on by the Wolf Pack. I might even make the trip out this year.
Take care,

Thanks for the link,
I signed up over there as well. I noticed in your sig that you have the Steeda hood struts; are you happy with them? I have been considering adding these as well; what did you pay for them? Straight-forward install or did you have someone do it for you?
Thanks,
Rob

The Steeda hood struts are very easy to install. It took me a whole 15 minutes to do both sides with the help of a buddy. You could get away with doing it yourself using props to hold the hood in place, but it is much easier to have someone hold the hood while you remove the bolts and add the brackets. I think I paid $100 for the kit. CDC makes a similar kit as well and their bottom bracket appears to be a bit better than the Steeda. The Steeda bracket that mounts on the fender could have been a little bigger to provide a better fit against it. They are basically the same cost.

Wow look what happens when you google search GT500 clubs in edmonton it brings you to a very old thread. Well just incase you guys don't know there is another club in Edmonton that is called AMOA (Alberta Mustang Owners Association).
The website is www.amoaweb.com
I am a member there also. Hope to see you around town this year.

I have quite a few GT500/Mustang customers from the Edmonton area(and a few from Ft. McMurray too lol), I'll pass along the club info.
