Have you checked with BBK Performance (http://www.bbkperformance.com/products/gripp.shtml)? I don't know if they've got one for a Shelby yet, but they seem to have them for several different Mustang models.

What about just sending your stock one to a chromer. It might be cheaper.

Maybe find a local chrome shop to strip and chrome your stock one.

Would like to save stock wheels and rubber for collectability before I wear them out. Any suggestions on drag radials for the rear and new shoes for the front. Am looking at 50resto for wheels. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm going to save the stock wheels as well, but probably not the rubber. Tires age with time, and are unsafe when too old (6+ years?), even when not used. If figure I'll just use them up.

I'm really leaning toward the American Racing Shelby Razor wheels (http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/details.asp?wheelid=228&name=Shelby%20Razor&style=198S&desc=1-piece%20painted/machined%20alloy&section=SL). I'd like to have 18 x 9's on the front and 18 x 10's on the back, but I haven't gotten confirmation on the size availability for the GT500 version yet (not on website yet).

For those changing wheels, remember to have the tire pressure sensors moved over! The sensors will have to be retrained for the new tires/wheels.

Any feed back on offset and backspacing for 9" fronts and 10" rears? Prez I think I will take your advice and spread some rubber around on my stock shoes. No sense on saving tires that will degenerate with time. Thanks

Real nice looking wheels. I just wish that I had a Shelby in the garage to put them on. I guess I can't complain that much though, yet. I've only been on material hold for 2 months.

My suggestion on 18s is front Toyo 255x45x18s on 18x9s & rear 285x40x18 on 18x10 rears. I plan to run front Silver Metallic Replica GT-R 20x9s on Nitto 255x65x20s & rear 20x9s on 275x35x20s. This is one bad ass wheel & tire combo. I'll post pics as soon as my car gets in & yes it will be lowered.

Sounds like a great combination. I'm leaning towards a bullitt style wheel in anthracite. Kind of an old Cragar look and the anthracite will kind of blend with the tungstgen. I guess I'm showing my age once again. Rubber sounds right on.

I love the wheels so much I am pricing out a set of stock rims for posterity's sake, and will enjoy the hell out of these wheels. Rubber is an issue I will address when Old Abe tells me to. I will post pricing once I receive it from my honorable dealer. I say that because after all how many dealers are not joining in this shark feeding frenzy, if you know what I mean? As I previously mentioned a local dealer sold not one, but two uints at $25,000 over MSRP. A grabbber orange convertible with no upgrades and an ebony coupe.

Performance White! That's my baby! I can only think of one Torch Red Shelby that I might trade my baby for! And red is my favorite color! A lot of love went into building my EMMY G! We have the same birthday, you know! Nah, I could never let it go!

As for the poll, I think that after it is said and done, the red will be the most popular choice, followed fairly close by the white and then the blue. I have seen these results on another poll with a lot of voters. All the combinations look great on this car! I would have been thrilled to accept any one of them had I not had a choice.

I did not even ask but placed a call into him after your post and as soon as he gets back to me I will let you know. You may also want to shop around though because he only charged me $57 plus tax for the sun visor, and I believe you stated $80 in a previous thread. Am also trying to confirm he orders the right dip stick because I am not sure if the oil pan capacity is different than a standard 5.4. I believe they are the same because my F150 holds a similar amount of oil as the Shelby.

UPS just delivered my MGW toys. License plate bracket with recessed srews, two raditor caps, oil cap and power outlet plug. They look great! The license plate bracket was a little steep at $58 but well worth it. Their stuff is top shelf. Thanks 07 for you were the first to turn us on to their website.:):):) By the way no need to order a stock dip stick because MGW' mounts over the stock handle with two allen screws. Will keep my order in though because the screws will propably damage the stock handle. Now all we need are power steering and break resevoir caps and we are set. Will call George at MGW and suggest just that. Happy ordering folks.

In my excitement in opening MGW's gift package I have noticed the stock handle will not receive the new one without cutting down the stock piece. I will call MGW on Monday or tomorrow, hours permitting, to verify such before attempting this task. Hold on to your stock dip stick orders. Also the screws they supplied for the license plate, optional for those who are interested and a must for neat installatiion, are a fine tread(six mm to be exact) and I will be looking for stainless steel bolts to back them up for a secure application, as the trippple chrome plate bracket is quite heavy in design.

The MGW dipstick handle comes with mounting instructions and alen wrench for installation. The stock dipstick handle must be cut down in installation so some may wish to order a stock dipstick, as I did for preservation of all stock parts. The chrome license plate is definitely a must. MGW products are top shelf as stated before and this item really frames a vanity plate. Be sure to order the recessed screws as they compliment the frame and make theft a little harder. When my vanity plate arrives, will post pics.

The license plate frame looks high quality, only problem I see from the picture is it looks like you must drill your front bumper unless they have a drill less solution. The license plate could be made out of 24K gold but I am not drilling the front bumper. :(

Aldy, I bought one of the Cobra key chains from the Ford site back before I got the Shelby and it is the Cobra, just like the fender tag and pretty big! Too big for my liking. Now they have another one listed on the GT500 stuff that is just like the fake gas cap and appears to be about the same size as the key ring. In prints only the number 1 has any collectors value.(Must also be signed and numbered) I ordered one as well but believe they are not signed prints.:( Reason the for the differnce between the GT350H print and the GT500 series. Has anyone seen a signed litho of such prints by Carroll Shelby? Would love to have one for my wall.

Aldy
10-06-2006, 03:20 PM
I believe he signs the GT350 print, hence the additional cost of the print. I guess another option is to order the limited addition print, take it out of the frame and then send it to be autographed by Carroll Shelby for $215. Total cost would be $514, which is cheaper than the GT350 print.

Now AARP is a familiar quote! Animal Farm was required reading when in school. Food for thought.:)

I'd say that pretty well sums it up! Very graceful of you! Just the facts, Maam!

Just an FYI...I purchased one of these "GT500 Carroll Shelby Motors" license plate frames from Mustangs Unlimited on eBay for about $10 shipping incl. They are kinda old skool looking and nice quality for a die cast frame. They are chrome frame/chrome letters with a blue background that is strikingly similar to 'Vista Blue'...I have included the eBay link below...or you can search eBay using "Shelby Frame" and see the whole variety of Shelby License Plate Frames that are available...:)
