Sorry I haven't been around lately.I was in Indiana for 3 days for a family reunion.I am playing catch up but very busy at work. After being with my kin folk all weekend it was kinda sad to leave. Here is a joke someone told me before I left for the reunion.

"Why is it so hard to solve a hillbilly homicide? The DNA is all the same and there aren't any dental records.":ack:

Now that pretty much says it all.

There were a lot of story telling this last weekend and some good videos. Here is a story I'd like to share.

All my family on my mothers side are from the Rosedale,Indiana area. They are all from big families to take care of big farms. Some of us have moved away over the years but a lot are still there. Here is a story of a video we all watched at the reunion.

This video was narrated and video taped by my cousin Jimmy who still lives and takes care of 1 of the farms.

1 of the bulls was not getting with the farm program. He was knocking down fences, kicking down doors and generally unruly. There were 3 of my cousins on horses and 1 on foot trying to lead the bull in the direction of a trailer.Well he did everything but go into the trailer. My cousin John was yelling and screaming at the bull and the bull took offence to being screamed at.The bull charged John and he was chasing him all over the place.John jumped into the water and the bull circled him like and indian on covered wagons but never touched him.We were all dying laughing.1 of my 3rd cousins(12 years old)asked Jimmy "hey where is the bull now?"Jimmy replied "on your plate."I busted out laughing and most of the kids were looking down at their plates but they were done eating after that comment.

That is how most of my weekend went but I miss them all.:bandit:

Glad you had a good time getting back to your roots, Fred. Sounds like you all had alotta fun!

My brother is a part time rancher north of Dallas. He has a bull that is not doing his share for his upkeep. My brother is thinking of butchering him for a full freezer but I told him every time he looks down and knows who is his on the plate he won't eat

Coming from a farm/ranch myself, I know exactly where Jimmy is coming from. That's how many of the animals ended up in our freezer over the years too. Nobody has use for a fence jumper or other such unruly animal and once they start those behaviors, they just don't stop. Luckily they are mighty tasty! :)

Good story, Fred. My family has a reunion every year in Minnesota. One of these years I need to attend.

Great story Fred. I am not a farmer, but an avid small game hunter and when a beagle does not respond to hours of patient training and days in the field, then he or she is not worth the grub they are fead, well you know the rest of the story. Sorry PETA, or maybe not.

Here's my take on it Rick.I don't know all the people at the reunions,it's just a lot of people but many I do.We only get 1 family during this life and I would rather spend time with them once every three years and get to know as many as I can than grow old and regret it.Here is another story you might be interested in.

I had a great uncle that lived in Colorado. He lived there for many years and I never knew him.He died in a car accident. He was street racing. How Ironic.:bandit:
