It's 98F here and everyone is whinning to high heaven.Tomorrow is suppose to be 100F.They don't know if they will have enough people to build cars tomorrow.I sure hope so.

You guys are going to have to excuse me most of this week.My Shelby started late today in the Body Shop.I took a couple pictures but it is just the front 1/2 of the floor pan.I have helped a great many people here but this is my week, sorry.I am doing everything I can do to speed mine up,pulling every favor in I can muster.I will take plenty of pictures. So I am going to be very busy for me for a change. If I don't get back with you in a timely manner that is why.I am very excited and have waited a very long time like most of you here to get to this point.I am already very tired.I will try to keep you posted when I have time. They still expect me to work too, imagine that! What nerve.LOL........later............................ 07.................................

rpretzel,
I feel your pain.I have heard it over and over again. The favors are running on empty fast.Material hold just means your Shelby is not ready to be built yet.It isn't high on the food chain. That I can't do anything about, except pray.

07,

After years of swearing by Valentine 1, I bought and RX65 because it didn't false (Laser) in my wife's FX35. The Infiniti has the laser speed control as well as a sensor that shows if you're crossing a line (side of the road, etc).

Just that small amount made my V1 go nuts. I had Valentine goof with it trying to make it work with the car, and "no go".

Anyway...read about the RX65 on Radar.com and it was HUGE. Couldn't buy them in stores. Got one off eBay. THIS THING ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

I normally hate using them, but with an "Arrest Me" red Shelby I'll need all the help I can get.

Now, as for your "jammer", check your email.

Love my RX65, drive everywhere with it. Purchased it after getting a citation, with a 2 hour old passport. It didn't even go off when the officer was parked right behind me....The RX65 has saved me many times....

Yeah, don't they all?

OK kids, here's the deal.As previously mentioned in this thread, the BEL RX65 detector kicks major league butt. I was an "arrows" desciple for a long time and thought the V1 could do no wrong. But, it was me that was wrong.

That said, technology has come a long way in the past couple of years and this includes radar jamming devices. IF you have a unit like the RX65, there's a "no brainer" option for you for a plug and play jammer that works in sync with the detector for a "one unit", integrated system. But, this BEL unit isn't the highest rated (albeit rated very well). Take a look at this site http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=8502
and you'll get the details. I've also found this site to be the very best at uncovering problems with equipment.

Read, enjoy and drive safely.

There's a great article in the Sept Motor Trend where a journalist follows his Mustang GT through the build process. Assembly started at 8:50pm. Final inspection takes 5 minutes, between 3:10 and 3:15am. It rolls off the line at 3:20 when the wipers, lights and horn are checked. It then gets started and driven to a holding lot....the one I lovingly refer to as Hell or The Chicken Coop.

The media never ceases to amaze me.We are at 65 jobs per hour and it takes us 2 to 2.5 days.5 minutes for an inspection?I will have to tell them that at work, they are taking way to long.

Oldimp,
Share some thoughts of your new Shelby.

Where to start? It is a beautiful car! It is more than I hoped for, if you could imagine that! The paint job is fantastic! Crank up the motor and it is very quiet (up front!) and completely still. If the supercharger belt wasn't moving, you would swear it wasn't moving! Amazing balance!

You will soon learn how to open release the hood safety latch without having to hunt for it! You will get plenty of practice the first day!

The acceleration is so smooth and plants you in the seat. It seems effortless to the car. It doesn't care what gear you have it in, when you ask for more it delivers quickly! The traction control seems more subtle to me. In my GT, you really know it is taking over, in the Shelby it seems less severe, but does the job. I barked them in third yesterday morning with both of my boys in it. They had fun!

Turn the traction control off and the weight of the car decreases! Rear tire diameter, too!

Not as many people recognize it on the road as I thought. Not that that is a bad thing, just a little surprising. Those that do recognize it either give you the thumbs up or go by with their mouths gaped open!

Well, I have to go wash the car! It has been nearly two days since we washed it and I was in too much of a rush to get on the road the first time and missed a couple spots on the wheels! Tire black goes on today, too!

This is such a nice car! I love it!

That is great that you finally have it, I am sure it is well worth it, not sure I will ever go through it again for a car....in fact I can almost put money down that I won't. But I am glad because following the posts I know you have been up and down with being told this and that. I think the interent has made it harder to wait because you can read about others getting theirs where before you go to a dealer...order it... and wait for the phone call. Post some pictures of it when you can.

Enjoy

Congrats oldimp! I finally got to see my first shelby here in Omaha and what a sight it was. I do have one complaint...the ugly Sirius antenna (black tar) sitting on the trunk. I changed my order and if I really want it, I'll get it as an aftermarket. All in all, it definitely is a thing of beauty. Very Nice if it was me and I had the contacts you did, I would have the stripes over the top painted on..... but that might be a pain in the ass also :) I heard on other boards (Stangsunleashed) that some of the stripeing has not been 100% on the money. Hopefully that is not the case and just a bunch of talk.. either way the warranty will cover the tape if that is an issue.

Wow,the start of another great week. They have been inviting me to every test that is being done to my Shelby,so hard to explain the feeling I have.I was picked up in MY Shelby today and invited to go through Roll Test.Roll Test is inside a large booth, there are 2 large metal rollers under each wheel.First you pull up onto the rollers and shut Shelby off. Then you push diagnostic testing button, plug machine into Shelby computer,Start Shelby. On the computer screen it promps you what to do,then it turns on the supercharger, then has you go through all six gears, were at about 78 mph now then tells you to go 65mph for about 30 seconds then tells you to turn Shelby off. Then it goes through your computer and checks for any errors, then goes through everything in the Shelby to make sure everything works.Lights go on and off, door locks lock and unlock, interior light comes on and then off, blinker go on and off,ect ect. Then it comes up and says pass 100%.Yeh!

Then you drive forward to the next station stop, turn off engine, plug computer into computer, start engine and this one goes through the whole emmissions testing. When it is done it says passed 100% slip your check sheet in and it stamps, pass 100 %Yeh,yeh.
Then they take me back to where I was, in MY Shelby and said we will pick you up tomorrow at 7:30 am for some more tests.Far out man this is better than last week. Then they go lock it back up.Wow what a day...............07...................

Let me offer my two cents here! More Shelbys are being built per day than they have the facilities to stripe! Based on the numbers I have seen, maybe 3-4 times as many! Ford is aware of the bottle neck and is working on it, but it probably won't help you guys that are already built of being built.

Once it is striped it most likely will go to the shipping folks. It could get slowed down because of something the QA folks find. Depending on where it is going, it will go on a rail car or a truck. You guys up in the cold country around Michigan will most likely go by truck. That will be faster I believe. If it goes by rail and is going to some place like Split Pea, GA or Fruit Jar, AL it might take awhile to get enough cars together that are going to the same unloading point! They have to fill up the rail cars! That set mine back nine days! Wah!

I know full well how hard it is for you guys to wait for this car! All together now, "Wah!" It will get there! Please don't set store in the ETDs that you may be getting! They may not be right and when you make up your mind that it will be here tomorrow and it doesn't show up, it is hard to swallow. Be prepared, but take the information you receive with a grain of salt.

After mine finally shipped, I had no firm information about delivery until three hours before it arrived at my dealership! I hope you get more advance than that, but I promise you that when you get your behind in that driver's seat you will not remember the wait! It just won't matter any more! This car will revive you like you can not believe!

It is worth the wait! If you have started on the 10 steps, you will make it to step 10! There are a lot of guys just like us that couldn't get that first step accomplished! We are the lucky ones! Hang in there!

Who is the new Prez?

Oh, yeah! Your nuts kind of get caught in your throat for a bit and that makes your eyes water! Cool, that was the word I was hunting for!

Man you get so high when you just know it will be here this Tuesday! And then Friday rolls around and they can't find it anymore! And it was supposed to be here Monday before last according to customer service. But, that was after the third ETD change.

Try not to base your hopes on any of the dates. I think it would be better to be pleasantly surprised that it will be here this afternoon than to have your hopes dashed because you thought it had to be here last week!

It will get there and you will be ecstatic over it! We are Mustang fans and fanatics and this is the best Mustang I have ever seen. Possibly a little biased there, but it is pretty great!

Don't get on the roller coaster!

Don't know if this helps anyone or not.. well it will help 07 Shelby from not getting hammered so hard but. The dealer called me to tell me when he thinks my car will be in. He called 1 day after 07 Shelby told me it was built. But what is the important part here is.... he gets a print out telling him when vehicles are coming and what vehicles they are. Not just to tell owners that have ordered but for the dealership to get prepared also, because they have to pay for them also they are not free. They have something called a floor plan which I don't know all the details but something like they finance them as well and have to make a monthly payment on all vehicles they have sitting. So that being said the dealers get a print out telling them what to expect and when. Now the date they give is not always 100% on the money especially if trained in because they are not going to run a train from location A to B with 1 car on it. But if your in driving distance than the date is more accurate. Last month he had a order in for some F150's, Fusions, and Ford 500's he was given a date in June when they were arriving and on the F150's and Fusions they showed up 3 days ahead of the date he was told. The Ford 500's showed up 6 days after the date. So......call the dealer ask him about this printout they get telling them when they expect the shipment but if the cars are being trained than not sure how accurate that is and of course there is also unknown that can happen. From what 07 Shelby has posted on where my car is the dealer has been right on the money...time will tell and I will tell you.

mine was made on june 12 i am still on the roller coaster

Tino,

I know what kind of roller coaster you are on, too! Mine had a June 12th build date, too! I have had mine five days this evening. You can not be far behind that! When you least expect it, the dealership is going to call you and they will be going nuts! They want to see it and they want to sell it to you!

My dealership has a guy that has worked for Ford for 69 years! He will be 90 this year and he still goes to work everyday! He made calls nearly everyday to Detroit and Shelbyville, KY and Columbia, SC trying to track and hurry along my car! The day after I got it, he made a copy of his phone conversation notes for me to include with my documentation. At the very bottom in large letters and circled said, "TGIH". When he handed it to me, I said "Thank God its here, huh?" Great senior citizen!

We are with you, tino! We feel your pain as we have had our own pains! When you get this thing, no amount of waiting will matter! It is worth the wait no matter how long the wait! Heck, if you are getting it this month, look how many poor soles wish they could be in your shoes! We are the lucky ones! Hang in there! You will love your car! That is a promise!

Yes, tino, dear tino! Alas, I believe you are certainly the most qualified person on the forum to hold the office of Prez of the "I Want My Shelby Now" Club! You have my vote for this honored and prestigious position!

If other members can offer sufficient evidence of similar qualifications, please bring them to the attention of the forum!

I know speaking for myself and my 2 cents I'm just a guy that wants to find out a few tidbits about my Shelby being built. I have waited a year and a half and will wait till the day it shows up. This has all been about waiting for our cars on this site
07 is the closest person that is near my car. Am I happy about his being built? Yes. I'm I happy to hear all that he is getting to do with his car? Yes. I' I envious? YES very much. Do I feel bad asking about my car? No. He has 500 post and has responded to almost everything that has been dicussed. If he doesnt want to take the time or if to many people are asking then I am sorry.07 has put himself in this position by being such a big part of this forum. This is not meant with any disrespect.
