Glenwood, eh? Welcome to the board, fellow Coloradan. A $10K+ ADM is a bit too steep for my blood.

Look me up if you have a '09 6-speed SRT8 for MSRP. :banana_hitit:

The 6 speed is the one to wait for. I agree with you.

I agree. on the 10k over... The 500s here went for 20k over. It was crazy, just so you know the owner get the money not sales

Is this going to be a custom order or do you have a vin yet?

If he's got the color already, I'm assuming it's ordered and has a VIN.

I have to say, I don't understand why it is an auto.

Hey w31_2008 you should know that all of the first SRT8 Challengers that are coming out in 08 are going to be automatic, like most of us here will tell you 6 speed is the way to go (I am really thankful that Ford always had only stick cars for the Cobra and now Shelby GT500 models) as far as fun factor goes. Most real enthusiast are passing on the 08 Challengers for that reason

I think Ford jumped the gun and has dibs on all the Tremec 6 speeds avaliable for a while and that is why the Auto in the challengers and no Camaro til 2009. :thinkerg:

I'm was serioulsy thinking of adding an Orange Challenger to my collection to sit next to the Shelby in the garage but havent pulled the trigger yet..The thing that's holding me back is the horsepower ratings . I would have liked to see the hemi engine output 500++ factory horsepower and that's what would make it worth it for me.

I have to say, I don't understand why it is an auto.

Because all things being equal the automatic will out perform the manual in the quarter. Thats why most run automatics at the strip. I dropped .2 sec with mine and I see Evolution put an automatic in thier GT500 now.

Auto is better for daily driving (especially for those who commute in heavy traffic) and for consistent 1/4 mile times.

Manuals are more "fun" and most feel they have more control over the car with a manual.

I like both equally for different reasons, and that's why I own both.

The engine options are the same in the SRT8 from 08 to 09, but in 2010 there will be a 550hp 6.4L Hemi option.

To bring a current Challenger up to GT500 power, you'd need to add about $5k in mods.

There are plenty of dealers selling them at MSRP, so you buy one at $41k fully loaded and add $5k in mods, you're still at, or cheaper than a Shelby MSRP, so they are a good deal. You do get more option inside, and Brembo's all the way around.
