Hello guys, I'd like some feedback on our upcoming version of the 2008 GT500KR, This is a new 2007 GT500 reskinned to resemble a 1968 KR. Let's try to keep it constructive if we can. We understand not everyone will like it. These are not the wheels we are using, the front is not complete yet but will have a chrome bumber as the rear does. Please focus on the concept and not the unfinished details. We are gearing up for production of these cars so we value your input, Thanks, Tony :)

Hi Tony, Thanks for allowing us to give you some input. First thing I notice is the rectangle taillights that I don't feel like they flow with the rear of the car, to boxy for me, they seem out of place. Not sure of the bumper, thought maybe painted would look better, still being retro but modern at the same time. I like the wheels. The hood seems alittle week buts has potential. The Front as a whole looks good. Hard though to see detail with small photo's.

What do you think about this hood?

Hi, thanks for the input, we are using actual 1968 gt500 hood and modifying it to fit, we can't use anything off a stock s197, the fenders are flat on top now and longer than the stock ones. On the rear panel, we can only go so big with the lenses due to the curvature of the panel, the pictures don't do this car justice at all, in person the proportions seem better. Chrome bumpers have been a highly requested part of our projects, although I think painting them body color would look a bit more modern, I leave that option up to the customer. Thanks, Tony

yes we do, don't we...kerry

Tony, concur with sn8k, the tail lights need to contour with the rest of the car. to square.

For the most part, I like it. The tail lights don't thrill me though. Did you consider about going with a longer horizontal set up like the old ones? Maybe not quite as wide per side as your current set up.

We actually looked at using the same size as the 68 KR but it looked very small on the current mustangs rather large butt. Maybe we need to trim some of the aluminum bezel part and enlarge the lens area?? That might help it a bit...Thanks, Tony

I agree on the tail lights......Looks like too much.
Front end looks good. I like the Idea of the chrome bumber

If you look at the lights of the gtr mustang concept they look pretty good in my opinion, they took a lot of cues for the shelby from this concept and they flow with the big but of the s197 while capturing a little of the old

We really don't want to "borrow" someone elses ideas, I think they would be too modern looking for our car and what we are trying to do. Thank you for the input and the pic though...Tony

No more input???

I like it...everything but the tail lights. They seem too much. Maybe its the silver frame around the lights. I'd like to see the lights without the frame. Might look better.

My mom taught me not to say anything, if I didn't have anything nice to say. But you asked, twice, so here goes.

First off, I'm probably not in your target market, so this might all be irrelevant. I do like the rear deck lid spoiler. (Mom would be proud, that's a positive comment) I do not like the tail lights at all. They look like an afterthought. I'm not a fan of the original '68 tail lights either, but those looked like one unit per side and yours look like two units. The originals were shorter, yours look a little too tall. The snake on yours looks out of place. The original had the gas cap with the snake logo, yours might look better with the faux gas cap and snake logo. The back up lights on yours look out of place. Maybe moving them out to closer to the sides, like the original, might make them look like they belong. The chrome strip rubs me the wrong way. If the entire bumper were chrome, maybe it would look like it belonged, but it isn't so it looks hokey to me.

I do like the look of the front quarter shot, so far. I think the chrome bumper would be a mistake for the same reasons I don't like it on the back. I do like the hood, though. It is hard to comment on the front with it being incomplete and without a head on shot. The right grille could make the car look aggressive, the wrong one could throw it off even more. I'd like to see a shot of the completed front.

Again, I'm probably not the target buyer for this car, but it just doesn't grab me. I hope I didn't come across as antagonistic. I'm just giving my honest opinion.
