Hey all, I just picked up a 10k miles 2007 GT500 and I have a few questions.
On the way home, my girlfriend said my brake lights came on every time I shifted (no I wasn't catching the brake pedal). Is this a known issue or maybe just a brake switch adjustment?
Also, both outside door handles don't go back in fully, they stick out about a 1/4 inch when you let go. You have to push them in to be fully flush.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Sounds like you may have some undisclosed issues.

Ok, so doing more research online last night, turns out both are common issues. The door handle issue is that there is a plastic clip that snaps on the handle rod, and the rod slips a bit through the clip over time. So the handle doesn't pull all the way back in because the rod is already back at it's rest position before the handle comes all the way back in. Seems like it was an issue all the way back to the 05s (although I never had an issue with my 05).
Here's a link to the fix:

As for the clutch brake issue, that seems to be caused by the assembly flexing just enough to engage the brake switch when you clutch. I should be able to adjust that on the pedal assembly.
And yes, the carfax was clean, it's a one owner car. I have all the documented info on the car as well, including the window sticker and all the little goodies that came with it new.

So just a follow up for anyone interested, or anyone new who does a search on these issues (like I did).
I got around to fixing both. On the clutch/brake light issue, it was in fact that pedal assembly flexing when the clutch was depressed, and just moving the brake switch enough to trip the lights. As someone on another board did, I just tweaked the metal tang on the brake pedal down a tad so it wasn't pushing on the switch as much and problem solved.
On the door handles, I wound up drilling and tapping the metal pivot arm and then locktiting in some 6-32 screws through the ears on the door handle. It's a bit more extreme fix than most others do, but it's 100% permanent and I won't ever have to deal with the handles warping again.

Passanger side door handle only though.
