Well first "Issue" to pop up and it's an annoying one there is a pretty good rattle coming from the drivers side dash area cannot pin point it so it could be anywhere from behind the gauge cluster to somewhere in the dash area. I fear taking it to the dealer because they will have to drive it, which means someone else besides me that does not make the payments will hop in it, scratch the seat or door sill, then tear into the dash making more scratches or make the problem worse so has anyone else experienced this and what did you find out was the cause? Thanks.

I had a similar issue with my 06 GT
dealer fixed it under warranty without issue. they fitted some foam tape between some plastic that was rubbing

I would have a dealer look at it. I had an annoying rattle in the back seat area passenger side. Dealer had it fixed in a day. That was 4 months ago and rattle has never returned.
I could be wrong but I have been told that the warranty for "rattles and creeks" is only 12 months not 36. If you are still in the 12 month window I would take it in for sure.

I am experiencing a rattle behind my gauge cluster as well. It sounds light and hollow (like plastic rattling on metal).
When I described this to my friend with a 2011 Mustang GT, he said he had the same problem. The dealer put a piece of double sided tape in between the gauge trim and it's support like STKJock mentioned. He said it took about an hour and was very happy with the results (no more rattle!)
My rattle has subsided to the point where I am too lazy to make an appointment.

Found a large empty lot and drove around and located the area of the rattle. If I push on the area between the driver side AC vent (near door) and the first gauge cluster the noise stops and has a little play in it when pushed if anyone knows how to remove that section I have some damplifier pad I can put behind it..
Thanks-Wade.
