1 BULLITT, well, I wrote an entire segment on noises, rattles, vibrations a couple of weeks ago. I am not exactly sure what a dash rattle would sound like; however, I think you will be fine with axle-backs.

Here's what my dilemma was regarding rattles with the exhausts. Make sure that when you change either the exhausts system or axle-backs, ensure you leave a little bit of space between the hanger and rubber boot housing where the hanger actually hangs from.

I chased a rattle underneath my car for a couple of hours until I raised it again and found that the hanger was actually banging up against the housing that it hangs in. Inside the housing is a rubber boot, but if the hanger is tooooo close, it will actually rattle against the housing. Give yourself about a 1/2 space between the two.

Bent it back a little and problem was gone.

I get the same rattle occasionally as well. I've just been too lazy to get under there and fix it.

Dangit Prez, fix the car man!:p Yep, I bet that distinguished rattle is exactly that. Too bad it took me about 3 hours to find it. Granted the Shaker 1000 about mid-way wasn't helping.
