I believe "ick"=wrong tire selection.

I have the MT 305/35/18s and while they are a lot better than a true street tire, they are not the best choice for the track. The 305/45s would be slightly better than due to the fact they are a little bit taller. Basically, the sidewall has to absorb all the power of the car. So naturally the bigger the sidewall the easier it makes it to do its job. Thats why a lot of guys (myself included after my MTs wear out) switch to 15" rims and tires for the track.

If you are dead set on keeping the 18's, the new M&H radials will probably be a better choice, as the compund seems to be better than the Mickeys.

Guys run 1.50's on 275/18 M&Hs. You don't really need the 325.

I run 325/50/15 M&H's on Bogarts but they're dedicated track tires.

Upside to M&Hs= Hook better than anything else
Downside= You can't run around on them on the street and expect them to last
You'll probably break $hi!t if you launch too hard

That said....wanna be quick? M&H. Wanna drive around on them and be OK at the track? M/T. Wanna drive around on them and just so happen to go to a track once? Nitto.

My son just got the M/T 325/50/15's on Race Star wheels, he ran a 12.8 on stock tires with no mods. now he has a CAI and a Lund tune with the DR's. he is going to the track Wed. And I am curious to see his times. He is trying to get into the 11's. he went with the M/T because he needs to drive with them to the track about an hour away. I'll let you know how he likes them. By the way what tire pressure do you guys recommend for the track with the above set up?
