: 2012 nightmare that will not end
grockel 04-23-2011, 10:33 AM we bought our dream car it came in and we were going on vacation the next day we told them that we would be there to pick it up thursday morning and they said it would be already to go.We went there and the car was filthy. We did take it after saying how we felt.As soon as we got it home we started cleaning it and noticed that there was dirt under the stripe and all 4 tires had big cracks in them so they ordered a new set of tires and a stripe.Weeks later they called we made an appointment for today at 8am and they said the car would be done at 11am.We went at 11am to pick it up and were told they ordered 4 of the same tires and the wrong stripe. You think they would of called before and told us.What is the best contact info for ford to talk to a person about this.Any info would be appreciated.Thanks.
Sorry to here about your problem. I would first speak with the owner or manager and see what comes of it. Maybe someone here has a number for a Ford corporate rep that can help if the dealership craps out.

jrzycobra 04-23-2011, 01:37 PM The worst thing you can do to the dealership is crush them on the satisfaction survey that you'll get after a purchase or service. The dealership gets benefits from Ford when these get filled out and everything is indicated as being hunky dory. If they get a bad one it's a problem for the dealership. Tell them now that you plan on trashing them on the survey and I guarantee they'll fix your issues fast.
I've had dealership sales and service departments comment to me before leaving to please fill out the survey that I was happy. It really matters to them a lot.

100% true!! Most salesman, mangers, and service personal have Ford Surveys as part of the pay plan. Bad surveys means $$$ out of there pocket.
wanted2b 04-23-2011, 04:08 PM This is good info to know. After the way I've been treated before I get the car and during the sale gives me a lot of ammo for the survey. They will not get a good one from me. Time will tell how I get treated during the delivery. Car will, so they say, be here in May sometime.
grockel 05-25-2011, 03:55 PM update:they finally fixed the stripe and the tires. They contracted another business to do the tires and 1 of the rims were damaged.my husband called the dealership right away. They said to send pictures which we did and the dealership gave us the number and name of the people they contracted. They were not nice at all.The manager was too busy to come to the phone and we should call back another time. They also said they needed to see it in person. We called the dealership and told them to handle it.I will update when I find out more.
SteelTownStang 05-25-2011, 04:02 PM Unreal!
R3troGT 05-25-2011, 04:44 PM Talk about bad luck and the worst service ever. You would think after dropping the ball they would try a lot harder this time.
Did they tell you the car was going to be taken somewhere else to be worked on. There is no way they should have done that without calling you first and getting your permission.
grockel 06-23-2011, 06:00 PM they finally ordered the right tires and stripes. They damaged one of the rims when replacing the tires. They just replaced the rim last week.I hope this is my last entry on this subject.
grockel 06-23-2011, 06:05 PM to answer your question about the tires. They did tell us that another place would put the tires on.I would never go to the tire place again. When my husband had them put a new rim on, we were taking no chances. He just brought the tire their and the rest of the car was safe in the garage.
1badsho 06-26-2011, 09:58 AM this is uncalled for for any delivery ..... be it a focus or fiesta ... but fords flagship of cars ....... pure stupidity of the dealer.
I apolgize to you for this shabby service and delivery expierence being a dealer myself ...... the delivery expierence of your new car is like the beginning of its birth ... something you dont forget.
What ever writings you have done already .. poor surveys wont erase the memories .... hopefully the car is everything you ever wanted it to be and more
bsmoke 07-04-2011, 10:52 AM Was this a Ford Dealership?
Or just a dealership that sold Fords?
I see no reason why a Ford Dealership would have another company put your tires or wheels on. Really makes no sense.
Mr Ford 07-14-2011, 08:10 PM I do..............
Dealers usually have Sh*T equipment and make the lowly tech pay for the rim if they have a mishap while trying to install the tire with the sh*t equipment. I refuse to install tire tires on custom rims where I work because I will not pay for my dealer/service manager being cheap when it comes to furnishing proper equipment to do the job.

I agree same thing at my dealership !we do send out wheels and tires sometimes to a shop that has the high end machine .
1badsho 07-18-2011, 07:35 AM We have a high end machine .... but than it goes to the tech .... sometimes we have capable people ... sometimes we dont .... custom rims .... are a bear .....

I hope you got a chance to slam them on the customer survey, or threaten to do so - the sales manager at the dealership where I got my 2011 told me exactly how to fill out the survey so that he would "pass", and obviously was very concerned to do so. He was a young guy and had made a couple of bad mistakes in the ordering process (including telling me I did not qualify for the interest rate he quoted me *after* I put down a non-refundable deposit and bought a non-refundable plane ticket to pick up the car). Anyway, without going into the details, I can vouch for the fact (mentioned above) that alluding to the prospect of his getting bad ratings on the survey was a powerful motivator to get his act together.
Sa-When 08-12-2011, 06:39 AM WOW!! talk about bad service,I would never go back there again,I like others here say write an extra page with the servey and send it into FORD, there are a couple Ford Dealers I will never go back to around here my local Ford dealer is the worse,So I travel 60 miles one way to buy all my cars from another Ford dealer and give him all my business. Good customer care is the reason I have gotten my last 8 cars from him..
Also when you send in a bad report, the dealer will call you so be ready for that as well..
