Ambient Lighting

This forum is helping me out quite a bit in my questions and anticipation of my Shelby. I am still hoping for the July 4th weekend. This forum reminds me a great deal of the one I was on when I was waiting for my SVT Raptor to come in last year.

Anyhow, I had a question about the ambient lighting. Is this part of a package? I ordered mine, with a convertible, without the electronics package or the svt package. I am of the thought if I go somewhere where I need navigation, I will take the 100.00 garmin, rather than spending the 2300.00. Although, I did get the nav in my raptor as it is my daily driver.

I didn't upgrade to the Shaker 1000 either.

I am thinking between having 500+ horsepower, plus 500 watts of stereo power, I should enjoy the ride! Any help with the ambient lighting question would be great!

As usual, thanks for all the help.

Re: Ambient Lighting

I believe it is standard. It should be on the web site. Best part is the Red speedo, White gauge cluster, and Blue tach.

Re: Ambient Lighting

I love the Electronics package not for the nav so much, but the overall interface and subsequent ease-of-use. Best thing for a rain-drop-dodger like me is the weather radar...

But if it's not a daily-mule, I can understand saving the money.

Ambient should be standard... The red-white-blue was cool... for 30-seconds.... And then my OCD took over. I run red everything.

2011 GT500 SVTPP Silver, stripe-delete, glass roof, accessory side scoops and techno-geek package

Mods: VMP TVS, 2.4" pulley, VMP elbow, CJ dual-65mm TB, res-delete, AFCO H/E.

660.42 rwhp, 641.74 rwtq

Dyno results were with old 2.59" pulley and before the AFCO H/E...

Agree with everything... except for red everything... I have all the gauges red.. yes, but the halo color on the speedo and tac is purple. Looks bad ass!

Makes me think of a submarine story. Seems a sub captured a Japanese and the guy was scared to death as he didn't know what he was in for. He was doing OK until they took him below. For light dicipane at night all the gauges were red and the Jap went below and saw all that red and they figured he thought he was in hell as he went all to pieces.

So Boss, don't go all to pieces with all those red gauges!!! I have mine set to blue including my Indy-cator!!

Re: Ambient Lighting

I should've specified... I'm white gauges with red halos, such that everything appears "integrated", matching the red needles, redline area of tach, etc.. The red glow looks super at night, the white numbers crisp and read-able, but I don't feel like I'm staring at an illuminated version of Grandma's patchwork quilt.

Red and purple?? Together?? I'm having acid flashbacks of the interior of a Knights Inn motel room... Oh, no, wait, now the creepy Burger King is riding through the room on a unicycle... STOP!!

Re: Ambient Lighting

I'm asking for a friend... how do you change the colors of the ambient lighting? On our Edge, there's a button on the console. No such button on my buddy's '11 Black SVTPP.

Ambient lighting is adjusted through the same set-up system as the gauge colors, etc. Hit the set-up button until you get to ambient lighting and follow the onscreen directions. (my '09 had the console button)

Good Luck!
