Looking to add the side scoops and also the window scoops on my 08. Any advice on which are good and which are not?

Re: Window and side scoops

I had DG custom window scoops on my 11GT and I loved them. Tried to get some for the Shelby but cant find anything anywhere from DG anymore.
I just dropped off a pair of Cervini stalker window scoops to be painted. Should get them back Wednesday, I'll post a pic once I get them on.

Re: Window and side scoops

Whatever you do, don't install the Eleanor window scoops. Too much wind noise. They look great but I could not deal with it. Stick with the slats IMO. No noise at all.

Re: Window and side scoops

eBay has the California Special/SS side scoops for $209.00 a set. You can have them painted for about $100.00.

Re: Window and side scoops

I had the Shelby upper scoops on my Super Snake, but have since changed to the other option that was available as part of the upgrade, the block-off plates.

When I first got my car back from Shelby in early 2009, the thing that bothered me about the upper side scoops is that from certain angles they looked like a triangle shaped blob of plastic on the 1/4 sail panel. They looked good from the front because the black insert gave them a functional look and some definition, but from the rear/side and rear they looked like a triangle blob of plastic.

I then worked on making them functional looking without modding the scoop itself. I sat down one Saturday morning back in 2009 and began to cut custom fitting decals to fit in the rear/inset area that would be open if these scoops were functional. Here is what I came up with, and to me it made a world of difference in "blob" vs. functional appearing with some definition............

^^^What a difference a little custom cut decal can make!

It took a little bit of time to get the decal to look right in the inset area, and many decals went in the trash can, but finally I got the look I was looking for.......and then started the process again on the other side.
