One piece drive shaft issue

A while back I purchased a one piece aluminum drive shaft and had it installed. On the way home I noticed under hard acceleration there was metal on metal contact coming from the rear of the car. Once we had it back on the lift I could see where the shaft was making contact with the tunnel about a foot or so from the rear of the shaft. I purchased the J&M rear upper control (adj) arm and mount installed it and the issue was gone.. Or so I thought.. It's been a couple of months and its back now with a vengance.. started with light contact now under alomst any acceleration on uneven pavement and hard acceleration on smooth pavement there is contact.

What do you guys think ? You can see all my mods in my sig..

Re: One piece drive shaft issue

Is it 3.5" font to back? I remember reading about a guy that had a 1-piece that was 3.5" but tapered to 4" at some point and it would hit the tunnel under load.

Maybe your UCA adjuster isn't tight and came out of adjustment.

Thanks for the responses.. I actually didn't think it could be that simple but your probably right. I'll let you know as soon as I can get it on the lift..

Re: One piece drive shaft issue

With those springs your ride height is pretty low.

You mention it happens under acceleration. Try some relo brackets. You can then relocate the rear of the LCA, and have the body lift on acceleration as opposed to squat...

Re: One piece drive shaft issue

Take the car back to the shop that installed your driveshaft. Tell them they got your money and you got the shaft!!
